Description

NOTE: I do not own any rights to this image. It belongs to Pierre-Auguste Renoir.

This is a master copy I did for my painting class spring semester 2010. Master copy= your own simplified version of another person's work. This is done in order to learn about some of the techniques the artist used while making the art.

Materials: Oil paint on chipboard.

Well as i always say practice makes perfect, so let me comment on the positives. The colors are great, they are consistant, which can be hard with oils. The girl on the right, her upper body has the right perspective, the background does appear to have some perspective as well. The girl on the right has the right dimentions but that nasty longer shoulder demon is present, its not as bad so that is a good thing.
Areas of improvment: the figure on the left, the lower body is not correct, legs are short and she looks kind of pregnant, the figure on the right you cannot see, or I cant anyways, the seperation of the legs. The arms on that figure are kind of..odd lol but they can be hard to do in oils.

Overall, not bad for a practice painting, get your proportions right and you will see a dramatic improvment.
